What We Are Hearing

55th Ward Democrats have done quite a bit of canvassing this weekend.  Of course, I forgot to take pictures of the group effort — It was chaos in my kitchen where we were distributing lists, literature, and getting organized.

We have knocked about half the ward.  We are knocking the doors of Democrats.  If we can increase turnout among Democratic voters, we will increase our margin of victory for every election — there is a lot of room to grow.

I have been asked by a number of individuals about voter response, especially with regard to the important issues.  There are two that rise to the surface quickly — Trump and the cost of living.  Universally, Democrats think the price of gas is directly related to Trump’s war of choice with Iran (spoiler alert — it is.)  Also, they are tired of government corruption — and they plan to vote on November 3.

Trump is not on the ballot this cycle, but he is by proxy.  If the Democratic voters in Ward 55 are indicative of Democratic voters across the country, then Republicans are going to be crying in their beer on November 4.
